Consider buying items in bulk- in many cases you will pay less for these items but also you will significantly reduce the amount of energy needed to manufacture and transport/
New bags in the grocery stores- more and more grocery stores are selling re-usable bags which can be brought and packed at the grocery store over and over. This will cut down on the paper and plastic bags which have traditionally been used.
Paper towels- they are now making paper towels where the sheets are smaller… most spills and cleanups which paper towels are used for could be used w/ a smaller sheet- therefore using less garbage.
Cans vs. Bottles (Drinks- Beer & Soda)- not only do bottles usually taste better but they use less energy.
Import vs. Domestic- this is an easy one… less transport will always reduce energy consumption, therefore not only better for the local economy, domestic is environmentally better for you…
