What’s an enviroCAB?

enviroCAB is based on a simple premise - we believe that taxi cab users should be able to ride in an environmentally sustainable taxicab. If you want to travel in a cab that produces substantially less emissions, you should be able to! And an enviroCAB is estimated to produce 60% less emissions than standard cabs now operating in Arlington.

How can enviroCAB be carbon-neutral? Besides just reducing emissions enviroCAB will also offset its remaining emissions by buying offset credits (What is an offset credit?). This will effectively produce a fleet of taxis that will emit zero carbon dioxide. In fact, we believe that enviroCAB will be the first carbon-neutral fleet in the United States.

How will enviroCAB be carbon-negative? In our view, being carbon-neutral isn’t enough, so enviroCAB offsets more pollution than it creates. enviroCAB will offset the pollution of two16 mpg standard taxi cab,s currently operating in Arlington County, for each taxi cab that enviroCAB puts in operation. This makes enviroCAB the first carbon-negative taxi service in the world.
